Occupational Therapy Services

At Purple Paintbrush Therapy, we are a Pediatric Occupational Therapy service that specializes in children and young people between the ages of 3 and 18 years.

We are based out of Clearwater, British Columbia and provided in-person services across the North Thompson area, Kamloops and South Cariboo.

Our approach is individualized, supportive, and focused on helping each person develop the skills they need to participate more fully and confidently in everyday life.

At Purple Paintbrush we recognize that every person develops, learns, communicates, and experiences the world differently. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we work to understand each individual’s strengths, needs, interests, environment, and goals.

Whether we are supporting a young child with play and sensory processing, a teenager with emotional regulation and independence, or an adult with additional learning needs seeking support with activities of daily living, our aim is to provide practical, meaningful occupational therapy that supports the person in the activities and relationships that matter to them.

At Home/Out in the Community Sessions

OT in Your Home

Home-based occupational therapy offers the comfort and convenience of receiving support in your own space. We come to you and bring the therapy equipment and materials needed for your child’s session.

Working in the home also gives us the opportunity to practice skills within your child’s actual routines and environment. Sessions may focus on areas such as dressing, mealtimes, toileting, personal care, emotional and sensory regulation, fine and gross motor skills, play, executive functioning, household routines, and increasing independence.

OT in the Community

Community-based occupational therapy provides opportunities to learn and practice life skills in the places where those skills are actually needed. Rather than only talking about or practicing a skill in a therapy room, we can work on it together in a real-world setting.

Online Sessions

Services can be provided online to individuals located in British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon.

As long as you have a camera and an internet connection, we can make it happen!

School Visits

Services can be provided within the school setting with given permission from the school, allowing us to support children where so much of their learning, play, and social development takes place.

We can offer to work with teachers, educational support staff and join IEP meetings.
